I don't think Marty would be a cheap hire. In the NFL these days if you want a cheap hire, you bump up an assistant who is already on staff. I would guess if he's hired, he'll get $3.5 mil a year minimum and it wouldn't surprise me for a second if it were closer to $5 mil.

$5 million for Marty? There isn't a line of teams looking to hire a coach in his late 60's. The Bucs can low ball him because he knows it will be his last opportunity.

Joe Gibbs learned this the hard way, stumbling back into the coaching ranks to work for a tinpot dictator.

Per WWL: Raiders have fired Hue Jackson.

He's as desperate to get back in as Bobby Valentine was with the Red Sox. If they want to give him a two-year deal at $3 mil total, he'd take it.

It should say Hue Jackson got himself fired.

"Hey, I just went 8-8 and didn't go to the playoffs and I overpaid to get a quarterback, who underperformed this season... I know... I'll ask for more power!!!"

You're grossly underestimating what a colossal pain in the ass Marty can be. This is a guy who got himself fired after going 14-2 because he was insisting on bringing his brother in as the DC.

But, we'll see if the Bucs try to lowball him if they even decide he's the right guy.

    Winston Moss will replace Jackson.

Nobody can pin this one on the crazy old man. There must be something in the water out there.

Sad that we won't get televised PowerPoint presentations with coach firings, though. That was tremendous entertainment.

Hey Bobby can be a pain in the ass too. I think I'm on to something here! :D

And I bet, at 68 years old, Marty is eight times as desperate to get back in as Bobby was. He's in no position to be a pain in the ass during negotiations. Unless he wants to defend his UFL title.
