I don't see how a purge in Oakland can be seen as anything other than a positive.

I know Davis' reputation is horrible and it's well-earned, but he just hired a very well-respected guy to be his GM, a guy who has learned from one of the best GMs in the game and will probably hire a top assistant from the best team in the league to be his HC.

Is it a guaranteed recipe for success? Of course not, but it's two huge steps in the right direction.

 

No doubt McKenzie knows his stuff, but he was not too impressive in that news conference.

Jackson might be a fool but he appears to have a commanding presence about him.

It's sad that Al isn't around for a coach firing. It's almost as if it was a final homage. There should have been an empty chair.

They should just give Bob Lamonte his own show, "Names I Want To Float," instead of making him go through reporters and analysts.

 

I noticed what a stud J.P. Losman turned into under Mularky.

 

And Mike McCarthy couldn't do anything with Alex Smith either. He did alright.

I'm not saying it was a slam dunk hire, but I like the thinking...

 

I noticed the intelligence-challenged wing of the Jacksonville fanbase has yet to master the spelling of Mularkey.
