Wasn't a direct college to pro jump, though. Miami hired Cameron from years as the Charger Offensive Coordinator's job, not college. Does that count?

Meyer was so unliked by his players in New England that they mutinied after he fired his DC. Then he got his ass thrown out right after that. I think it was Hall of Famer John Hannah who said Meyer was the biggest joke of a coach he'd played for at any level.

One of the things I like about the Schiano hire is that he really built that program and was able to get people, fans and players to "buy in." Some coaches can do it, others can't. Some may call it a "rah, rah" style, but I think that's the only type of college coach that succeeds at the pro level. Someone who can relate to players and get them to want to play for them, instead being concerned about what happens if they don't.
The coaches that show off their college championship rings in an NFL locker room are like the guy wearing a high school letterman jacket at college.
Jimmy Johnson and Switzer may have won rings in college, but they were always players coaches.

Calling Switzer a success in the pros is a stretch - ring or no ring.

You win, or even reach, a Super Bowl, you get success status. Period.
