So Tiger can't be called a twat unless the guy calling him a twat has won a Major?

How about a 3-ball of Garcia, Scott, Woods?

Ratings would be off the charts.

They've had like eight inches of rain at Merion since Friday and it's pouring now. Question isn't how low the scores will be, it's if course will be playable by Thursday.

Jordan Spieth, 19, wins the John Deere on the fifth playoff hole and becomes the youngest PGA Tour winner in 82 years.

Holed out a bunker shot -- one hop and in -- on 18 just to get into position for the playoff.

Glad someone else was watching. I'll always have a soft spot for the JDC ... it's the little PGA tournament that could.

And kudos to Spieth ... both Zach Johnson and the Canadian guy had birdie putts to win it in the playoff, but the 19-year-old outlasted both of them.

Zach Johnson is heavily involved behind the scenes of the JDR. It's stuck in the worst date on the calendar, but a few years ago, it started offering a free charter on Sunday night after the tournament over to the British to help get a few bigger name players into the event.

I wanted Spieth to win, but man, it was hard to watch Hearn miss that putt on 17.

Lefty won the Scottish Open. Well he's doomed then :) Good win for him. It looked a lot like the Open conditions.

JDC still has the charter. It's a neat deal.

I like the JDC because of the Open Championship spot held for the winner. It's not just another paycheck tourney for the mostly mid-echelon or younger players in the field.

Hearn winning would have been huge in my little part of Ontario, where no other golfer has ever earned a dime on a pro tour.

The Canadian Open, coming a week after the British, has an even tougher date in terms of attracting a top field.
