Never heard Scully's call before. Just Milo's.

Yeah but somebody edited the story, right?

Yeah, that was the first thing that came up when I searched "Hank Aaron 715," and I figured you couldn't go wrong with a Vin Scully call.

Haven't you heard? Copy editors are not necessary in today's journalism. Just ask management.

Left Coast longball craziness Wednesday: Pujols hits 521st; Dodgers' Gonzalez has 3-HR game vs. Padres.

Good stuff, but couldn't help but notice the guy in the white coat hanging around Hank at home plate who was the spitting image of German national soccer coach Joachim Löw. Who was that?

Six shutouts yesterday; 13 total for the season so far. 7 other games where a team scored a single run.

Feels like we've stepped back into 1968. Or 1908.

That's a three-year trend. Last year saw the lowest run-scoring per-game average in MLB since 1992.

Maybe things will improve once the weather warms up (which it generally does), but umpires calling the actual strike zone (and not 4 inches outside to lefties and at the shins for everyone) would help.

I was kind of half kidding. Even the term copy editor is nostalgic. Makes me think of proportion wheels, pica rulers and cut it where it falls.

But I'm still amazed something that bad got published.
