They had two games with Detroit rained out earlier this month (a Friday and a Saturday). They made up one as part of a Sunday doubleheader, but could not make up the other.

If they win out and are still alive for the wildcard after Sunday, they'll make up that game on Monday.

EDIT: Now that I look at it, the Astros now have 84 wins, so the Indians are eliminated. So that game with Detroit won't be made up.

Aha........and with Detroit being off today.......Tigers and Indians will have played 161 by the time it's said and done.
    Thanks steak.

Not that anyone else does or should give a shit, but Jose Abreu hit his 30th home run last night. Nice that he didn't significantly drop off from his Rookie of the Year performance.

Quirky, meaningless stat of the day: Tim Hudson is making his final career start looking for win No. 223. Win No. 1 was in June 1999 vs. the Dodgers. If he wins today, win 223 would also be against the Dodgers

Only went 2.1 innings, so no win for Huddy.

Used to be if there was a tie at the end of the year and both teams were in anyway, they went by season series head-to-head and there was no one-game playoff. Only when a team faced potential elimination did they play a playoff game. Is that no longer the case?

Yes because there's a huge difference between a division champion and a wild-card team.

Rangers clinched the playoffs tonight. They can clinch the AL West with a win or an Astros loss. Quite the comeback from 9 1/2 back in late July.
