Wow, Angels. 5 in the 9th to save the season.

Shelby Miller is having what has to be the unluckiest season ever by a starting pitcher. Nice 3.15 ERA and a 5-17 record.

Nolan Ryan (8-16, league-leading 2.76 ERA in 1987) says hi.

So if the Astros lose tonight, do all the Rangers get a text message to show up in the Ballpark parking lot and spray each other with champagne?

Dumbasses send their closer out five days in a row. Oh, and in doing so, they open up the possibility their closer being unavailable for the last game (and possibly the division tie-breaker)

Listened to the Angels postgame radio show on the way to work, and Mark Langston took the manager to task for that and said that Tolleson was sent out there because Bannister wanted him to be on the mound for the division-clinching out, thinking there was no way they'd blow a four-run lead. Whoops!

Scherzer throws his second no-hitter of the season -- first time in regular season since Nolan Ryan in 1973, though Halladay did it in 2010 including the playoff one.

Only baserunner was an error by Yuniel Escobar. So Scherzer is an HBP and an E-5 away from two perfect games this season.

Yeah, they keep saying he's the first since Ryan and fifth all-time, but Halladay's NLDS no-no is a real thing that happened. It's not like it was a spring training game.

He also had 9 straight strikeouts until the final out, one off Seaver's all-time record for consecutive Ks.

Hamilton's usually there doing that every night, so what's the big deal?
