After doing some cursory research into similar incidents, that doesn't seem terribly out of line to me. 5-6 games seems to be the industry standard for throwing behind a batter. Ventura getting fined seems harsh, but I guess it's a "body of work" punishment as much as anything.

The issue, of course, is the complete lack of discipline for any of the Oakland players.

Maybe that's the issue to Royals fanbois.

The rest of baseball knows the slide was not punishable, nor was Kazmir's pitch.

Lack of ejection, that is. Neither was fine- or suspension-worthy.

Ejection for what? No way on Lawrie. Kazmir was a tweener at best.

Love that Rosecrans posted a transcript of the exchange. Also love that he gave a statistical breakdown, including the subcategories for references to excrement (bovine and equine).

    Here's my biggest beef.
You suspend Herrera. I thought 3......but oh well......
You fine Ventura, but nothing happens to the guy that started the whole damn shitstorm.

...and Kazmir did not deserve to get fined or suspended......

Truth be told, I'm surprised Uncle Ned didn't get fined.

That slide was not suspension worthy. It was a slide, well within the lines.

Just noticed that Matt Carpenter has had exactly 2 hits in 7 straight games.

    Fineworthy though.

    Not even fineworthy. Hard slide.
