No, that would be the 20-plus year runs the Pirates and Royals had of not making the playoffs, just to name one statistic that would apply if you really want to dig into that discussion again.

Here is another. Since the strike in 1994, 19 of the 20 World Series champions were among the top half of MLB in payroll. The lone exception were the 2003 Marlins, who were 25th. The champion was among the top 10 in payroll 13 of those 20 seasons.

The system has improved in recent years, but even the most devoted baseball fans and apologists will admit the playing field isn't truly level when they decide to be reasonable.

Report: Josh Reddick's father arrested, according to Georgia TV station - San Jose Mercury News

Reddick was arrested on Monday along with Linda Crawford, 36, described as a longtime friend of Reddick's, according to WJCL News. The station said the arrests were the result of a sixth-month investigation by the Georgia's Workers' Compensation Enforcement Division.
