Reading the Star today, sounds like when Samardjiza was with Oakland last year, he was chirping at Ventura from the dugout (possibly after Ventura gave up a 3 run HR in relief that should have lost the game for KC) and then he hit Cain on opening day. If Ventura didn't throw at anyone or argue with an umpire, what could he be suspended for from last night?

Moustakas also got hit up high last night. At least it's getting closer to 1-to-1 on Royals vs opponents getting hit.

A question -- what is the difference between sticking up for your guys and being a wagon full of dicks?

For all of the talk about the Royals being unliked and out of control, they're the ones who are 12-4. For them, being the Eeyores of baseball is something they aren't. They'll leave that for the A's.

Samardzija clearly has some issues with the Royals. He was also screaming at Colon from the dugout the inning before everything went down. And if the rumors about Sale going to the Royals' clubhouse to fight Ventura are true, that's a dick move as well.

That said, Ventura has to know people are going to try to wind him up. He needs to learn to ignore it. I'm reminded of the quote from "Justified"..."You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. You run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

Do they celebrate Festivus in Kansas City? The airing of grievances must be a huge civic event.

No. Actually, someone should go over there and kick their mouthy asses already. You've got one asshole telling people he's going to hit them in the head. You've got another throwing at people every start - he can't even finish a start without getting tossed. It's ridiculous.

I can't wait until they lose 95 games this year and everything gets back to normal.

Fortunately this Royal fracas didn't involve extras from Shameless coming out of the stands.

I don't know about y'all but I'm usually happy when I get a ground ball back to mound.

Not only has Ventura been ejected twice, but he left his other two starts due to injury. So he's exited all four of his starts for reasons largely unrelated to the way he pitched.

True story: A younger Big Circus was at Comiskey the very next night after the Ligue/Gamboa incident, sitting on that same first-base line. Despite the fact that the Royals had left town - I believe the Sox were facing the Twins that night - I wore my Royals hat, both as a show of defiance and (much more so) because I wore it almost all the time back then. The chip on the fans' shoulders was there even then!

Steak, who the hell gets a thumb cramp?
