If Michigan gets in the tourney this year, it will be the sixth appearance in seven seasons. In that time they've ranked in the top 13 in the final AP poll three times, won the Big 10 regular-season title twice, made a title game and another Elite Eight. They have five guys in the NBA right now, including a Player of the Year winner who is one of two lottery picks, drafted in the last four years, plus four others make NBA since 2010.

But yeah they've been off the map.

You want to talk about falling off the map, look at Arkansas. From about 1975 to 1995 they were right there among the elite programs with Sutton and Richardson. Won a national title, got back to the final the following year. They may have won two NCAA tournament games since. Complete afterthought.

7-minute mark in Blacksburg. VT in the double bonus and has only one foul of its own.

I get how frustrating it is, but at this point I think UVA has to take a close look at if it has something to do with the way it plays.

Wahoos are about to lose because a ball stopped on the back of the rim.

I don't know if they can do it, but given the issue with the rim it would only be fair to switch sides for the second OT.

I'll be shocked if Stevens ever coaches college again. He did not like the recruiting half of the job and wasn't particularly good at it. He's very happy in the NBA. If things don't work out in Boston - and so far they seem to be more than fine - he's proved himself good enough that another team will give him a chance.

If the Hoosiers make a change, I'm sure Fred Glass will want to go after a big name hire, but I think they outta give some serious thought to Linc Darner at Green Bay.

We've discussed Mark Few before ... he obviously loves living in the Pacific Northwest, and he has perhaps his best Gonzaga team yet, with more talent in the recruiting pipeline. Only he knows for sure if — at age 54 — he'd want one more challenge at, say, a school like Indiana or even Michigan State.

My guess is he's at Gonzaga until he retires — but then, we said similar things about Chris Petersen at Boise State.

Hoiberg at Indiana would be interesting.

Who knows what goes through coaches' minds when it comes to job opportunities, but if he was going to leave wouldn't he have done it by now? He's been at Gonzaga for almost 30 years.

The dynamic in MBB is far different than in FBS. Few can legitimately compete for a national title at GU, he will always get the chance because of the NCAA tourney. Petersen couldn't at Boise State. Seemed to me that Petersen made noise about that near the end of his tenure and after an 8-4 season in 2013 he was ready to bail for the right offer.
