Most schools have strong alumni bases in DC, but even the ACC has had disappointing draws there.

It would help the Big Ten if Rutgers and Penn State were a factor at all.

I didn't expect to be entranced by Omaha vs. South Dakota St., but here we are. Great crowd too.

He seems generally depressed by getting that assignment.
I'm guessing he'd much rather be in NYC for the ACC.

They can deal with it. More than half the conference returned unsold tickets to the ACC the last time the tournament was in Greensboro. I'd be surprised if that was the case now, because New York and DC have non-tournament activities besides golf.

So is the ACC tournament about basketball or catching a show on Broadway?

Even in the watered-down ACC where Boston College and Syracuse don't travel well to Greensboro, the atmosphere around the tournament has been a hell of a lot more fun - in my experience - there than in Atlanta or D.C. Those are two of the places Boeheim suggested it should be. I admit I'm not in New York this weekend and having the tournament in Brooklyn may be the next best thing to sliced bread, but the Barclays Center has sure as shit looked empty during these opening rounds.

I wish there was an adequate arena somewhere in Virginia for both ACC and NCAA Tournaments, but it doesn't look like that is ever going to happen in Richmond. Maybe Virginia Beach.

I think Boeheim is half right. Watching on TV, Brooklyn seems pretty good. Greensboro should be in the rotation if North Carolina gets the bathroom thing worked out, but probably gets it too often. Raleigh would actually be a better spot, but I suppose they don't want to play on anyone's home floor.

D.C., Atlanta and Tampa were underwhelming. I wonder what Philly or Pittsburgh would be like.
