Six guys scored in double figures in this game. Five of them went for 30-plus. Yowza.

Canes led UNC by 16 with about 16 minutes to play. UNC comes all the way back to tie it in the final seconds.

    Then this happens ...

UVA just absolutely stole one in Louisville. You could watch a million games and not see a sequence of events like that again.

    To recap:
    - Louisville goes up 4 with ~6 seconds left
    - Ty Jerome goes up to take a meaningless 3 but is fouled with .9 seconds left
    - He makes the first two, misses the second intentionally, but UVA is called for a lane violation, so down 2
    - Louisville runs the baseline on inbound pass, called for a walk, no time off clock
    - DeAndre Hunter banks in contested 3 at buzzer

Ernie Kent may have knocked his old team out of the NCAAs. Wazzu wins.

Arizona pulling out all the stops. Miller's back and so is Trier, cleared to play after his second suspension for PEDs. They figure Ayton and Trier are gone anyway, and if they're going to get nailed it won't change anything this year.

It all started with that foul on the 3-pointer. It's amazing how at every level, high school, college, pro, men, women, how many defenders put their arms up when their team is ahead by 4 in the final 2 seconds of a game. It's the only way you can possibly lose, although of course the biggest risk is letting the team tie it and sending it into OT where you'd lose, not like what happened here. Still, stop playing defense! Stay 10 feet away. Stand on the other end of the court. It's bizarre and so frustrating if it's a team you're pulling for to see guys wander over to the shooter and put a hand up. And like I said, it'll happen in NBA games just as often as anywhere else.

This ranked up there with my old college coach who lost a high school game when up 8 with 14 seconds. Opposing player made a 3 and got fouled. His kid complained and got a T. Other team made all three free throws, got the ball back and hit a 3 at the buzzer.

At some point in the late '60s-early '70s era when Duke sucked, it blew an eight point lead with 17 seconds to go against Carolina. This is in the pre-shot clock, pre-three point shot era.

Not from Mincer's even. Wahoos might be getting a little T-shirt crazy this year.

So highly improbable. And such tremendous justice. University-6 falls.

UVa was on 3,200 point per game pace over the final six seconds. And people say it plays slow.

    0.9 SECOND, not seconds.

The good news for Hunter is he won the game. The bad news is extra laps at practice for scoring points.
