Didn’t USC have a few players suspended for that game? Don’t get me wrong, the Trojans are always fraudulent until they prove otherwise, but I don’t think we can take much from that game.

Also, after watching that UVA-Vandy game, I understand why nobody was there, but man, those were some sorry-ass crowds in Brooklyn.

We’re heading over there tonight, so you can count on at least two more in attendance. Though, I’m kinda hoping Seton Hall in the late game might allow us to slip into better seats.

Looked even worse at the second game each night. Think they need to revamp that tournament. Pretty solid field (except Vandy, maybe) but seems like there wasn’t a lot of buzz. Terrible TV placement in addition to the terrible crowds.

They’ve got Kansas and Louisville in next year, they normally travel for these things. The UVA fans there all seemed to be alumni in the NYC area. Nobody was traveling when the football team had a decent shot of beating Tech at the same time. I don’t think I saw a single person in Vandy gear.

The special Nike unis for the PK80 tourney aren't really doing the company any favors. Nothing like letting everyone see your butt sweat.

I think I just read on the ticker that Alabama is playing with 3 players because of a brawl and foul trouble.

So Alabama played with three players over the final 10 minutes and still outscored Minnesota 30 to 22. Ended up losing by 5.

The whole bench was ejected after players came onto the court during a brawl. Then one guy fouled out, another rolled his ankle. Bama still almost beat the Gophers.

If Minnesota had lost playing 5-on-3 for the final 10 minutes, it would have made my college basketball season. In November!

Attended the Bama-Gophers game. Most absurd sporting event I've ever seen, no doubt. The Gophers were far and away the superior team....when it was 5 on 5. Lead was 10-17 from pretty much halfway through first half to halfway through second half. Then the chaos started, first with Mason getting tossed, a Pitino T, the pushing and shoving and the ejections of the Bama bench. Then within a split second it seemed, they were down to 3. And then outplayed them. The Gophers had no idea how to attack Bama when they packed in 3 guys. At first they just bombed 3 pointers 10 seconds into the shot clock. Then they'd take midrange shots. It's not totally unbelievable that Bama could score down 3 on 5. It goes back to the old saying, great offense beats great defense. If a guy's hitting shots, doesn't matter if there are two guys in his face or 3. But the Gophers bafflement on the offensive end....ugh. The crowd was very pro-Gopher, as hometown player Jelly Washington is a top freshman for Minnesota. But once the Iron Three started cutting into the lead, the....tide, obviously swung the other way and it was very pro-Bama while I was watching the Gophers somehow collapse. Would have been such a Minnesota sports moment to lose while up two players.

Bama’s probably better with fewer guys to get in Collin Sexton’s way.

Makes you wonder if someone will try keeping two players in the front court on defense and making it a 3-on-3 game ... like Iowa girls basketball.

UVA shot zero free throws tonight against a legitimate opponent and won by double digits.
