With bullpens like these, I'm wondering how both teams made it to the WS. WTF?

    Because of hitters like these.

Did everyone forget Game 4 when neither team looked like it could get a hit? Sometimes pitchers have their best stuff, sometimes they don't.

My wife (a nominal Red Sox fan) has complained to me for years about how boring baseball is. She tolerates my NFL obsession pretty well and will watch a Giants or Patriots game in its entirety, but she has no patience for baseball. She hates October because I make her watch a lot of baseball, and even moreso when the Yankees are in the playoffs.

This year, though, since the Yankees made the ALCS, she's been getting more and more into it. It started with her suddenly deciding to wait until "this at-bat is over" to go do something around the house. Then it became, "when this inning is over."

Tonight, she was shouting after Bellinger's 3-run HR, saying "I can't go to sleep until this game's over!" I gently pointed out that it was only the fifth inning and she was like, "OK, enjoy the game, I'm going to bed." But if nothing else, this game, this series and these playoffs have finally helped me make progress in converting her. :D

This is going to show up as an almost (or more than) 5-hour game.

Fuck it. If you didn't have fun watching this, baseball can't appeal to you and doesn't need you.

Yeah, I've got about a 5:45 wake-up call by my oldest in the morning, but by the fourth inning I pretty much decided to just suck it up, drink some energy drinks tomorrow and get through it, because I'm not missing the end of this game.

I hope it goes 6 hours. And f my directTV. missed parts of a couple innings because rain somehow messes up the signal, not even wind, just rain.

Pederson ought to be on third with one out.

Hinch might regret what he said earlier today about Giles. He's going to have to go to him eventually.

So does Hinch have Correa or Altuve pitch the ninth?
