    A Fox derp just asked that if Verlander pitches well tonight (and I guess wins), will he go down as the best pitcher of this generation?

    The tendency to turn postseason baseball into an occasion bearing the same weight as regular season baseball is pernicious. It's also yet another example of baseball's NFL envy/inferiority complex. Verlander could give up 6 in the bottom of the first tonight and he'd still be one of the best pitchers of his time. He could throw a no-no and "the best" would be a debatable issue.
