Yes, you do, but you would have to admit to your trolling if you acknowledged it.

I'd explain it again, but you'd just lie and/or sidestep the issue. But yes, it seems you were wrong to dismiss concerns about Lester.

Jon Lester isn't a head case who has convinced the world that the key to his renaissance is a strictly adhered-to eight-hour yoga routine.

No, he's a 33-year-old pitcher who has thrown over 200 innings eight of the last nine seasons, so he has other red flags.

Did you ever bring up the yoga thing last year? Or were you keeping the fanboy hatred quiet?

I hope you are right about Lester, but the point stands. There red flags are there for him, too, and the performance is much worse.

Watching MLB Draft coverage online: High school players Royce Lewis (Twins), Hunter Greene (Reds) and McKenzie Gore (Padres) taken in the first three. Louisville's Brendan McKay got drafted by the Rays as a first baseman at No. 4, although he's also a pitcher with the Cards. He didn't look really happy about that when they showed him right after the pick.

Not a whole lot happening down at the Juice Box right now.

ADD: Didn't happen, but Astros' only hit was a bloop single that Mazara dove for and couldn't quite squeeze. No-hitters always need a web gem or two to preserve them.

The Yankees used a first-round pick on South Carolina pitcher Clarke Schmidt, who had Tommy John surgery last month and won't pitch in a game for at least another year.

Man, the outlook on that operation has changed.

It's virtually a positive to have it out of the way.

It appears the Orioles' determination to continue to field a starting rotation of No. 4/5 pitchers is finally coming back to bite them. As a fan, I honestly hope they just continue to slide so Duquette is forced to find a way to rebuild rather than continuing to believe that you can succeed with that sort of staff. The bullpen had an all-time year last year, and they haven't been able to duplicate this time around. Not to mention the offense has been far more bust than boom this season. This regression was inevitable.

There were some trend pieces a couple of years ago about maniac baseball dads making their 12-15-year-old kids, if they were promising pitchers, have the surgery so they could get it out of the way before it affected their draft status or college recruiting. Almost a pre-emptive thing.

In Passan's book The Arm (required reading BTW), he says he searched far and wide for evidence of this and found none. Most likely a myth.

Dickie he also said mechanics were a big part of it. It was in the Verducci article a couple years ago, where he said he didn't like Adair in Balt.
