Running 2017 MLB regular season thread

    Maybe the Pirates will sell on Ivan Nova. Sure, they just signed him in the offseason and have him under control through the end of the 2019 season, but Pittsburgh always seems ready to sell veterans who make any money and this season is a bust.

    Article said Torre called him out publicly for some bad calls. Maybe he holds a grudge.

    I can imagine every poster in this thread is recalling a game, or games, his/her team lost thanks to a miserable call by Angel Hernandez.

    I've officiated at many levels over the years, and i can tell you that bitching about the assignments that you get......won't get you any better assignments.

    I don't automatically think of blown calls with Angel Hernandez, although God knows they're there. I think of an ill-tempered preening asshole.

    This should win some sort of ficktion award;

    Cuban-born Angel Hernandez, 55, states in his suit that he has been passed over several times for a chance to work the World Series despite high marks on evaluations
