Girlfriend made me hired movers. She said we're too old to do the old, "Hey buddy - come over and help me carry some furniture" routine.

It is really something else, though, how the juiced ball can make Kris Bryant's numbers look downright pedestrian one season after the same numbers won him the MVP, nearly unanimously.

    Running Bryzzo is hard work.

    Offensive WAR in 2016? 6.6
    Offensive WAR in 2017? 3.2

So which numbers are you looking at that are "the same"?

Amazing the numbers the Nats are putting up. Same four guys in the Top 10 in RBI, Top 20 in HRs, Top 7 in average, Top 30 in runs. You'd think there's only so many runs to go around per team.

I put Harper as the MVP leader right now. Murphy is right behind him, as close as a mosquito on his neck. Then it's Paul Goldschmidt, who could easily take it if the D'backs keep playing as they are.

Joey Votto might be having a better season than all of them, but will be hampered by being on a shitty team.

    Um, dude, 3.2 times 2 = 6.4.

This? This is me replying to say, "occasionally I'm an idiot."

"Here’s how my brain works. It’s stupidity followed by self-hatred and then further analysis. It’s not a very efficient system of thought. I have these dumb thoughts, "duh," and then i go, "what the fuck is wrong with you?" And then i figure it out. But the impulse is always stupid. Like, I saw this guy in New York one day, and he’s walking his dog, and this is what I saw. The guy’s got a coffee and a dog on a leash, and a phone. He’s on the phone. And the dog’s leash is going from the phone hand to the dog. And I look at this and I go, "Oh, he’s got, like, a dog phone." Like, that thought sincerely inhabited me for, like, a full minute. I’m going, "oh, i wonder What the benefits are to hooking your phone up to a dog." And then the other part of me had to go, "Why the fuck would that exist? You asshole."

Bryant hit .292/.385/.554 with 39 HRs and 102 RBI while winning the MVP last year. Two people hit more homers, five drove in more runs (though only one with a large advantage), 18 hit for a higher average, eight had a better OPB, and three slugged better.

This year Bryant is hitting .277/.402/.534 with 19 HRs and just 40 RBI. Eighteen people have as many or more homers, 47 have as many or more RBI, 37 have a better average, only five have a better OBP, and 19 have a hgher slugging percentage.

While Bryant has similar stats to last year, the rest of the league does not.

Let's digress from my own stupidity.

Why is Bryant walking so much more this season? Lack of protection?

His OPS+ has only dropped from 148 to 144.

    He's walking a lot more.

That is one reason that his counting stats aren't what they were a year ago.
