Nephew just messaged me that he's going to the game. I'll get plenty of updates. Be nice to see this kid reach his potential. Sox haven't had a superstar in 20 years.

I thought of him, but I don't think he rose to that level. Not talking talent wise, just playing for the Sox makes it difficult to be a recognizable superstar. Frank was the last, IMO. BTW, Moncada looks at strikes on first two pitches then works a nine-pitch walk.

J.D. Martinez left his first game with the Diamondbacks after being hit by a pitch on the left hand. Initial report is a contusion. The X-rays did not show a break.

Yeah, but tow of those balls were strikes.

The deal reportedly was $3 million for the rest of the season, and a lifetime pass at the garlic fries stand.

My favorite Giant of the championship run. I can't watch him without laughing.

No risk, probably no reward, but the Giants have always been partial to fan favorites.

Apparently headed to the minors first, so double-check the locks on your pantry, Sacramento RiverCats fans.

And I'd be happy to give him a free pass to the concessions at AT&T ... good only at the fresh veggie stand in center field. Otherwise, this move makes no baseball sense at all. Like selling a few Panda hats still in storage will make up for a lost season.
