How did the Steelers do?

 

Off day, and IDGASATS.

 

Crowded outfield for the Mets if Conforto hits. Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson are replaceable if they slump. And Lagares will be the fouth outfielder/defensive replacement when he comes off the DL.

Meanwhile, Noah Syndergaard seems to really, really pitch well when the spotlight is on.

 

Pete Mackanin sounds ready to remove Jeanmar Gomez from closer's role

Looks like Jeanmar Gomez might be the first closer to lose his job. Pete Mackanin told reporters he would have something for them Monday, once he has spoken to Gomez.

 

Otis Nixon is missing. Last seen Saturday morning.

That's not good. Hope it ends well. But have little faith it will.

 

Half an inning? That can't be right

 

Probably a typo and no one caught it.

 

Two-thirds of the bottom half.

 

Songbird is right, it should have been 1/3 of an inning. When I looked it up, I was kind of hoping for some Chuck Norris thing where the other team just left after 2 outs. But honestly I thought it was some rule I didn't know about involving a pitcher getting pulled mid at bat, that guy getting out and the pitcher got the batter scrubbed from his innings and only got credit for getting one of two outs. Obviously my logic abilities before 4 a.m. leave something to be desired.

 

I like that thought process though. You don't want to know what I was thinking at 4 a.m.
