I agree about Garcia and his 97 singles out of 137 total hits.

That Cy Young season by Rick Porcello is really gonna be one of those all-time stick out like a sore thumb years isn't?

If the Indians offered Trevor Bauer for Avisail Garcia straight up, Rick Hahn would walk to Cleveland to seal the deal.

Four homers tonight for JD Martinez.

I've always been a Scioscia supporter, but what the fuck!! Twelve pitchers in an 11-inning game. The Angels have played three games in a row that went past the 3:45 mark, including a 5-hour, 9-inning game in Arlington.
But he learned under Lasorda, who once ran out of players in a September game.

Well, Angels probably would have had a few less hurlers if the starter (Bridwell) didn't give up four runs in the first and fail to make it out of the fourth inning. Angels finally got it to where the offensive lineup is in good shape, and now the starting pitchers can never seem make it through the fifth.

I think the last starts of Skaggs, Heaney and Bridwell, they haven't finished the third inning.
Garrett Richards is supposed to return and start on Tuesday. If he blows up, too, it could be another marathon of bullpenners.

You love your Tribe, I know. But Bauer has a career 4.42 ERA. Time to stop thinking he's going to be good.

It really was the perfect trade for the Diamondbacks.. They needed a right-handed bat and Martinez has been a beast since the deal. He has 20 home runs since the All-Star Break, 18 of them after being traded to the Diamondbacks.

Avisail Garcia's career .734 OPS would like a word with you.

Let me be very clear about this, because I have been going at it with an old friend on Facebook about this all season, and he gets ferociously pissy when I bring up Garcia's ugly peripherals, and now I am in this weird position where it looks like I am defending Avisail Garcia:

I do not think Avisail Garcia is any good.

His success this year with a 20 percent strikeout rate and a 5 percent walk rate is completely unsustainable.

I think he's going to hit .270 next year with 12 home runs.

He will not be on the White Sox when they are good again.

He is Dayan Viciedo with one season of good luck.

If Trevor Bauer could actually pitch like a 4.42 ERA pitcher most times out, he would have a long and prosperous career.

Since he seems to enjoy coupling stretches like he has since the All-Star Break (3.05 ERA) with those like he did pre-break (5.24 ERA), you never know what you're going to get from him on any given day. Plus he might cut up a finger modifying his drone. Indians will have a very tough decision with him this offseason as he becomes arbitration eligible. What kind of long-term contract will they offer? A league-average pitcher has quite a lot of value, especially as the third- or fourth-best starter on this team. But if they have to pay him based on what he's done the second half? The checkbook might be missing a few pages if Bauer prices himself based on those results.
