    Wasn't me.
If it was me, I would have dumped them, and then went to beating the hell out of them.

Doesn't look intentional, especially with the pitch type.

The Detroit Tigers at this point are barely even pretending to field a major league team. They should pay money to get in the door. If I were an umpire I'd fuckin heave any of them if they even blinked their eyes at me.

The ump getting drilled by the pitch? Pitcher, catcher, (acting) manager, boom boom boom all gone. Get on the fuckin bus and haul your ass to Toledo where you belong.

I hope Ausmus enjoys being on set with Rose and Thomas next year.

Ausmus will quit and get a job as a AAA manager, third base coach or maybe pitching or bullpen coach, with an NL West team.

Maybe 3-5 years down the line he'll be ready for his next managing gig.

Right now his resume is not too dissimilar from Joe Torre's at a similar age. But not if he stays with Detroit for 3-5 years of going 52-110.

He'll be Astros bench coach after Alex Cora gets a managing job somewhere.

That would be his perfect gig-- Houston is going to be very very good the next few years and he could pick up some luster by association.

As of today his career record is 310-318 and I think generally he's seen as somewhat underachieving. But he tacks on a couple years of losing 120 games, his "potential" will be gone.

The next Tigers manager will be some 55-65 year old retread playing out the string who is willing to soak up a lot of losses to collect 3-4 years of a managers paycheck and then shuffle off. Maybe some old hand in the farm system waiting for a last shot -- Lance Parrish?

If absolutely everything goes wonderful in their rebuilding process, 2021-22 should be about when they start regaining consciousness and maybe make a run at .500. That'll be when they have to hire a serious manager.

And he's still loved in Houston because of this:
