Cardinals win five conseucutive games and are in first in the NL Central. For now.

Sierra looks like the real deal, so I don't expect Fowler to play out his five-year contract with St. Louis.

 

Altherr 2 for 4, two homers, four RBI today. On the other hand, Phils' bullpen gave up eight earned runs in three innings. So Silver Shadow has the small sample size evidence in favor of his argument today. I don't know about Altherr, but I'm pretty sure the bullpen will keep on sucking.

 

Somebody was doing his fantasy baseball scouting. Once I saw the second homer today, I signed on to pick him up, but somebody beat me to it. I agree that a correction is coming, but he can definitely be a useful option this year.

 

If Altherr strikes out twice in the same game, he can be known as the 2K Altherr.

Yep! I picked him up but I was checking out his numbers and they don't look sustainable.

 

That's what my research indicated, too. High BABIP. Too much trouble with certain pitches. But I don't think he'll suck. I just expect a regression.

 

How is Arrieta looking? Still kicking ass and taking names?

Not sure what last year's discussion was, but how would it be irrelevant?

 

Because it was about last year's performance relative to 2015, not this year's.
