In the last 10 minutes, they had to gamble. Before then, they still weren't making UMBC work for anything.

 

I’m sure Bayless and Cowherd will figure a way to say they called this upset.

 

That wasn't just a 16 beating a 1.
That was a 16 beating the shit out of a 1.
10 hours later, and I'm still in awe.

 

Cowherd will come on and say something about this being the death of defensive basketball.
I don't know what Bayless will say, because that show is so orgasmically bad, I refuse to watch it.

 

Can't wait for UMBC to get that 30 for 30 film in a few years

 

It was a few pages back on this thread, but there was a consensus that it was a pity Vermont wouldn't get an NCAA bid because they were upset by UMBC in their conference tourney final.

Horseshit. Virginia was clearly letting the pressure get to them in the second half of that game. They played absolutely nothing like the team they were in the regular season. It was especially evident offensively where, as I said earlier, it was like you could almost see their hands trembling when they shot.

I think they realized the significance of what was happening in the second half, the sense of panic set in, leading to flat out choking.

 

I love the UMBC win. UAB fans can relate, as we beat both a #1 Virginia team with Ralph Sampson and a #1 overall seed Kentucky team. Those guys are living the dream this morning. Good for them.

Yep. I was dumbfounded by that. I watched that Virginia defense just plain suffocate the best teams in the ACC. I saw the most talented players in the country being unable to find any open space to operate against it.

But then I turn on the TV last night and see the 5'8" 140 lb dude for Baltimore County getting wide open drives to the hoop. WTF?

 

I guess it's good for the school if it generates buzz, but I thought there might be some downside to being extra snarky. The interesting thing now will be if he keeps up the attitude for the next game.
