I was at a regional in Syracuse covering UCLA. Syracuse was playing somewhere else vs. Richmond. In the press room, everybody was rooting against Syracuse. They were happy with the outcome.
The next day, UCLA lost to Eastern Michigan. That game cost me a visit to Cooperstown. We were going to go on the off-day after UCLA beat E.Mich. Instead, we went home.

The oddity was that BC never lost a first round and never won a second round game while I covered them. I did cover them beating Indiana in a Sweet 16 game in 1994, but then they lost to Florida. I never saw them win two in a row. Did see Marbury lay 39 on 'em, though.

Cuse was one of the first 2 seeds to lose to a 15, wasn't it vs Richmond?

edit: they were the 1st in 91. Used to by Boeheim was known as a whiner and his teams
underachieved. Over his career, and this season, he does seems to get a lot out of his talent.

Having Jim Nantz in Charlotte is a recipe for a weekend of ACC slobbering, instead he gets Virginia and UNC upsets.

Good of CBS to put UMBC on the channel no one cares about tonight

That was decided long before the tourney. CBS has 60 Minutes tonight. Nothing would bump that.

Is it just me? Or did CBS' talking heads spend more time praising the Tar Heels than the Aggies once the result became apparent?

One of the best shows is on that channel, Impractical Jokers.

So put it on TNT or TBS then

It also happens to be a channel my cable provider doesn't carry

Curious if it makes much difference. On DirecTV, TNT, TBS and TruTV are on consecutively numbered channels.
