I love this Loyola team. Most blatant bandwagon-jumping I've done since the Brad Stevens Butler days.

How many coaches who have been fired have made the Final Four in their second chance?

True. However, perhaps Moser learned a ton from his Illinois State experience. Or perhaps he got lucky AF but, either way, he's going to make millions from some Power 5.

What are the best jobs open now anyway?

Give the guy a break. Save this for the week after next. I am always unsure how much coaching has to do with a tourney run, but Loyola kicked ass tonight. I see no reason why they would have to see themselves as underdogs to Michigan or Florida State.

Eddie Sutton is the only one I can think of, but that was a much different situation.

Oh, and Bob Huggins. But also a much different situation.

Well, Virginia needs a new coach.

My Facebook feed and my brother’s PMs tell me Chicago is off the hook right now.

    Jim Larranaga?

I believe he was fired at Bowling Green (although I'm not sure why, looks like he went 22-10 his final year there, which is pretty damn good for BGSU), but then later took George Mason on that 06 final four run.

Welp, looks like I'm a Loyola Chicago fan the rest of the way. I kept thinking they'd get knocked out, and they kept winning, so, you know, why not?

Seriously, if they somehow won the whole thing, where would it rank among improbable outcomes? Bigger than hockey beating the Russians? Bigger than Buster Douglas? Bigger than ...

    Where was he fired?

EDIT: Answered while I was posting apparently.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was right about that. So I googled, then edited. I think you responded almost simultaneously with the edit.

Fwiw, I'm STILL not sure I'm right. Can anyone confirm that Larranaga was fired at BGSU?
