Call it small school pissed off paranoia. Damn good Mid Majors don't get in, usually because of a misstep in the conference tournament. Seventh and eighth place P5 schools with fourteen or fifteen losses do get in. Mid-majors are supposed to "know their role" and provide entertainment in the first two rounds, then get out of the way of the bluebloods.

What I'm saying is that I'm afraid that the committee gets even tighter next year. Call it exaggeration for conversational emphasis, the small conferences will still get their one bid.

    Probably. ;)

Not exactly on Norm. He went to one Elite 8 in 1994 and they lost that as a top seed.

I could never pin down why his teams often won in KC at the Big 8 and then pooped all thru the opening round four days later.

Yes, that is the small sch0ol paranoia. Of those that get in, every 5 years or so one will make a good run. But every time
one upsets a P5 school we hear the cries of how the mid-majors get screwed. But when a 7th or 8th place P5 school gets to
the Sweet 16 or Elite 8, people will say it doesn't mean they should've been in the tourney because they didn't have a good
regular season. I guess it's the allure of college basketball to some. You get to argue it because there's not an objective
comparison. You mentioned WKU earlier. They didn't beat any teams Syracuse lost to. WKU had about 10 losses. Would
Syracuse have a worse record if they played that schedule?

Remember that this display is how basketball is supposed to be played.

Not really. This game was shit pretty much the entire 1st half. Villanova-WVU was more like the way it should be played.

Nonsense! They’re running and pressing. It’s beautiful.

I’m not sure the mid majors really have a huge gripe this particular year. St. Mary’s went out of its way not to schedule anybody decent. Middle Tennessee was the opposite, but unfortunately lost a bunch of close games. I wouldn’t have minded if either got in over Syracuse, but it’s not like some years where they truly got screwed.

UVA should've done it vs UMBC:)

Why the hell did FSU concede down 4 with 10 seconds left?

They did, in the second half! It went...poorly.

Oh, I absolutely agree. It's been a fun year to pull for the little guys. That's what I'm afraid of, it's almost been too good. Makes me nervous that there will be an adjustment, you know?
