Also, I love the aerials judging where even the announcers can’t figure out what’s happening. That might be the most subjective sport out there.

Wondering if this isn't coming from someone higher up, to build up the Americans. They were just brutal on all skaters during the team event. I think their performances were on one of their cable nets between periods of the hockey game, with only the top six on NBC.

Worst showing by an American Olympic team ever. Thanks trump

I'd get to used to Rippon. I'd bet good odds he becomes a commentator.

Chen was terrific on the second night. One of the best skates you'll ever see.

Weir and Lipinski are a contrast to Bode Miller, who's so...bad...at commentary he's actually kind of great. He's droll, interested more in pointless details than the drama of the moment, and thus kind of hilarious. He's the Bill Belichick of the Winter Olympics.

The terrible joke about Anna Veith's husband...Miller delivered it so poorly, in such a minor key, that it sounds like he's serious.

Totally anecdotal, but I rarely see teens on skis. The next Bode Miller and Lindsey Vonn are getting big air for shits and giggles, quite possibly, and eating Cheeba Chews.

I have never skied and of course never snowboarded, but the snowboard events at the Games are more fun to watch than the ski races, so I bet they're more fun to do as well.

I like the Winter Olympics in large part because the Americans are underdogs much more than usual. I wish NBC didn’t pretend that we’re amazing at everything. I’m fine with the rooting, but I wish there was more focus on the actual favorites. (And to be fair, NBC did just that with Hanyu and did really good work.)

I snowboard poorly but want to be out with my kids rather than sitting in the lodge despite the fact I will be forever on the corduroy while they will be doing runs far beyond my capabilities.

Skiing still seems more popular than boarding here, especially among families with serious athletic ambitions for their kids.

The next Lindsey Vonn (but better) is Mikaela Shiffrin. Lindsey just hasn't figured it out yet.

Calgary. I live and board near Canada Olympic Park and am trying to get more time in many of the awesome mountains within 2 hours.

We are looking at scaling back some of the kids organized sports to spend more time on the hills next Winter.

Last time out was a hookey day from work.
