He's an absolute mess out there. Starts bogey-double. Three straight birdies gets him back to even. Then takes a 7 on the par-5 on the back. His putter has saved him all his career. Not even the flat stick these days can bail him out. Will be fortunate to make the cut.

Speaking of not having a good dinner. Those blue jackets aren't happy seeing those low scores. Expect some Shinnecock drying out and get things back to acceptable USGA levels.

He's 50. If he wins another major, which he won't, it'll be Augusta. US Open? No way. Anybody who uses that story line is not telling their readers/viewers the truth.

Spieth is a disaster. Let it be known that I absolutely abhore slow play. I can't watch him hit a shot. It's a process that takes forever. When Sergio was slow, he knew he had to speed up after the mess at Bethpage.

Jumped on the Spieth bandwagon six years ago. Yes, he's slow. I abhor slow play. Drives me insane.

But his fall has been unreal. Can't find a fairway to save his life.

    1) He seems to be a good interview, sometimes really good. Read Ian O'Connor's piece on the WWL's .com for proof.

    2) This is done about Phil at the U.S. Open, Rory at Augusta and Jordan Spieth prior to the PGA because wins in those respective events would complete slams for all. IMO, if you need that help with ADVs for The Open Championship - particularly when it's held at St. Andrews, Troon or Royal Lytham & St. Annes - it's probably time to find another line of work.

I loved Phil hitting his third shot from the opposite hole’s tee box because I’ve done the fuck out of that.

Oh Phil, and he started -2 after 2.

I dig the "Golly gee whillickers" attitude out of Phil, but I also wouldn't mind a "You stupid bastard...." once in a while out of him after a bad shot.

I could live to be 1000 years old and never understand the slow play.
Spieth is borderline glacial. DeChambeau has actually gotten a little better. Jason Day has gotten worse.
Put these 3 together and then put Koepka, McIlroy and DJ together......one group will be done in 4:40.....one group will be done in under 4.

We've identified a few people in our championships who are glacially slow, and we intentionally slot them in the final grouping every time because we don't want them to slow up the rest of the field. They can't seem to take the hint. Pretty sure the one kid has more red flags than cuts made in our State Open.
