That is a great move. I'm sure CBS pushed for it since Torrey is their leadoff event every year and they wouldn't be able to do it because of the NFL.

Eh, sunset is 5:20 on Jan 30 in La Jolla. Not a lot of east coast prime time.

Yeah, off the air at 8 p.m. EST. Not exactly the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.

Padraig Harrington? Andy North? Hale Irwin after Open #2? Of course Payne Stewart, for obvious reasons.

Right. And you have to account for the potential for a playoff, so I'm guessing that the final grouping goes off around noon local and the tournament ends closer to 7 on the East Coast.

Irwin was 45 when he won the second Open, then five years later became a human ATM on the senior tour. Unless Bernhard Langer finds a couple more wins, one would have to think Irwin's record of 45 senior wins is untouchable -- because will any guys from Rory's era have motivation to grind after 50?

Curious as to how much a human ATM earns, I went looking for career Senior Tour earnings. There are some crazy results racked up by some, shall we say, less-than-household names?

The money these guys have and still are making. Damn. I knew it was a lot but didn't know it was this much.

    Langer - $31M
    Irwin - $27M
    Morgan - $20.6M

And the Senior Tour's schedules 20-30 years ago were crazy long, with almost as many events as the regular Tour. Lots of chances for cash and, in Irwin's case, to build a win record that's gonna be nearly impossible to beat.

With all this stress worrying about the Ryder Cup captain, I played 18 on a beautiful day in northern NJ. Considering I completely rebuilt my swing this summer, I'll take a round with nine bogies any day.

Bones returning to work the bag with JT after four years walking with a microphone. Should be interesting.

It's hard to say that a guy who has won 14 times on Tour should be winning a lot more, but it feels that way with JT. Could be a great move to grab Bones.
