Holy crap indeed. And he does withdraw. Thought for sure a family member had passed the way he reacted.

I assume that even if he's vaccinated and asymptomatic that he's obliged to withdraw because he would be a risk to transmit it to other persons in his vicinity? Cause that's some serious bullshit.

Nantz and Faldo had no idea what was going on and when it came out it was COVID, they both said they were thinking something much, much worse.

    Wow.

Don’t they have to test Cantlay and Scheffler now?
Who were his playing partners in the first two rounds?

I'm sure they'll be tested, but if they've been vaccinated, their chances of a positive test are low. If that's what happened to Rahm, it's a real fluke. Because I had a scheduled then postponed until Monday colonoscopy, I've had to have two covid tests in the last 10 days. Both negative. I've been vaccinated (two shots plus two weeks) since April 1.

In the first two rounds, he was paired with your 54-hole co-leader, Morikawa as well as Xander.

    Doesn't work that way, Jon.

Just went back and watched the last 45 minutes of the broadcast. It was really remarkable, the way they were talking about how his performance was the best on tour in a long long time, and then the drama about why his knees buckled, and then the revelation. Golf really is entertaining.

So he tested positive this morning after finishing the second round. They confirmed the result while he was on 18.

I don't know the rate of false positives. Obviously to err on the side of caution, he doesn't tee off. But a false positive would be a shitstorm.

Golf Twitter is up in arms.

50 percent vaccinated? No vaccination, you don't get to tee off. Tour and the USGA could mandate that no problem. More selfish asshole golfers than even baseball players.
