"Iona secures 2nd straight NCAA Tourney bid beating Marist"

The AP story on the MAAC championship is headlined as if the St. Peter's miracle last spring never happened. Iona played in the 2022 NIT.

If this is considered a problem, perhaps there should be issues with games at the ESA – or whatever sponsor's game is now up on the building – for NCSU men's basketball. Worse, NCSU athletics were known to give metros more than five floor side seats and relegate writers for community papers - i.e., outlets that sent exactly one writer - to the hockey press box up on the seventh floor.

No metro needs five courtside spots, especially when it means that sole reps for other outlets are relegated to hanging off the rafters. But there was no explaining this to anyone connected with NCSU athletics.

If the media outlets get somewhere with this to the Big 12/XII, good. Maybe it will have a trickle-down effect.

Arkansas AD has released a statement on the incident. My bullshit-detecting meter is up to 11 on the famed Nigel Tufnel scale.

Keep in mind, mpcincal, that Hunter Yurachek spent years shoveling for Tilman Fertitta while he was the AD in Houston. Probably has shovels and a backhoe ready to go at a moment's notice.

Not the most captivating game to watch -- it was 6-2 six minutes in -- but exciting finish at T-Mobile.

And gotta make your free throws.

That was perhaps the worst call I’ve ever seen. It’s in the top five for sure.

Been watching the Players, but during a commercial break I switched to VCU-Dayton in the A-10 final. In one play sequence, in which Dayton missed several shots, got some offensive rebounds, finally had a shot "blocked" and VCU went down for a fast break layup, I think I counted six uncalled fouls between the two teams. Was the whole game called like that?
