Meanwhile the Hokies are sitting at 8-1 with the only loss coming at Charleston in the championship of the Charleston Classic. Women's hoops is in the top 10. Basketball school.

How dare you insinuate anyone from this school would be irresponsible with a firearm!

This story gets crazier. Could you imagine if it was at a much bigger school? Is New Mexico State even going to be able to keep going with the season?

Chris Jans (Mississippi State, 8-0 baby!) sure got the hell out of town at just the right time.

By the way, Fordham is currently 8-1, but according to KenPom, their strength of schedule is 357 out of 363 D-I teams. This year, they'll be trying to snap a 15-year streak of finishing under .500 in Atlantic 10 play. In 28 years of A-10 play, they've finished .500 or better 3 times, and made zero NCAA tournaments.

I take it you don't know much about personal conduct standards in New Mexico?

The players involved (well, the non-injured ones) played in Sunday's game and the school new all about what they'd done.

Obviously, they know if an assistant coach was covering up tracks. They had to know things were going to be dicey following the football fight. But they might feel a little more pressure with the spotlight shining brighter. Of course, I don't know how far this reaches outside of New Mexico.
