When FAU is bad, it is truly bad.

Might have happened a year earlier had they not been gifted a regional within an easy drive of Storrs despite not earning it.

I sure wasted a lot of sympathy over the years for waitresses, I guess.

Doug Shows continually getting Elite Eight and Final Four games is almost criminal.

I'm taking bets on what athlete under 5-10 will have the most words written about him in the next week.

High-end seafood restaurant. Average check is about $50 a person.

She worked in greasy spoons in the Midwest for three years, dealing with grumpy old people who left crummy tips. But the owner who hired her in Boca really loved the fact she stuck with it.

I'm a small school guy too, and get the concern. But they would have been in this year, and I don't even think it would be a question. Just following how they decide who is in now is fairly clear (it isn't hard to pick the teams in the tourney as a bracketologist if you really pay attention) and there weren't 33 at-larges better than them. Look at Nevada, another non-power and last team in. Nevada would not have gotten in over FAU. I think in the past it was much more uncertain how teams got in and there was a lot more of the eye test and other nonsense used. The committee might have been assholes and made them a first four team, but they would have gotten in. They had a solid at-large resume, especially for a one-bid conference champ. They did get kind of screwed on the seed, though, and probably should have been like a 7. In the end, though, the seed has benefited them so it has worked out.

If Doug Shows officiates anything above an Upward Basketball doubleheader at church it is an affront to decency.
