Mitch was at Microville Tech for four years before going to UK. He's good people, and was one of the most accessible AD's I ever worked with in more than 30 years in the business. I know 4-5 times were traveled together to events he was speaking at, and he was an absolute wealth of off-the-record or "sources within the department" background information that was unbelievably helpful.

As far as Cal complaining about the lack of "support staff," I checked the UK website and there are 29 people listed as coaches or support staff for the men's basketball program. Twenty-freaking-nine. I think that's plenty.

On another subject, watching Dayton-VCU tonight. VCU had some fat dude with long hair and a pornstache who looked like he should be playing intramurals in the Franklin Avenue gym, and he shot the lights out off the bench and won the game for the Rams.

It's been a while since I went to a UK game, but there was a guy in a suit for every player and maybe a couple left over. Cal's not short of help.

That's VCU's David Shriver. He's been hot lately. Transferred from Hartford once they announced they were going DIII.

Duke's the only place where I've ever worn earplugs during a basketball game. However, UNC's old Carmichael might have been louder because one wall is brick and the sound just reverbs in there something crazy. And that was just for high school state championship games.

Third consecutive game Tennessee has pitched a defensive shutout through the first media timeout. I don’t think some extra analytic firepower would have been enough for the Cats today.

Whoever thought that KState wearing light purple against TCU in white was a good idea needs to be smacked.

Kept quiet the whole rest of the game because I did not want to jinx it. Now that it’s over

Arkansas with the rare 7-point play that could have been a 9-point play. Hogs with an and-1 followed by pushing and shoving that netted three Vandy technicals.

This Mizzou choke job at Florida has me so pissed I changed the channel to an NFL game I don’t even care about. Fucking Tiggers.
