Wow. Can't imagine the Caps will want him back, not at that price, though Carlson's salary will likely be off the books for a bit as I'm pretty sure he's going on LTIR and won't be back until late in the season.

His conditioning stint in Grand Rapids was extended by a week but this tells me SY is done with him
Three young forwards — Soderblom, Berggren and Veleno — are waiver exempt
    They have three goalies
But they made room for Robby Fabbri by waiving Vrana, who has erased any mention of Detroit from his Instagram page

So he’s toxic in more ways than one. Says a lot. Not like Stevie has a surplus of talent. Yet, anyway.

So, The Athletic is running a 100 greatest hockey players of all time.

Malkin at 26? Really? Letang at 99?

    Are they really that good?

If you've never won the major trophy four your position in nearly two decades, can you be a top 100 player?

I just read that Ron Francis is a cousin of former Whalers goaltender Mike Liut. Did not know that.

I believe The Athletic list is the top 100 expansion era players, not all time.

The Scott Stevens entry is quite something. Most of them border on puff pieces, but the Stevens profile focuses exclusively on (a) concussion-inducing hits that are no longer allowed, and (b) the 1990 limousine incident that allegedly involved sexual misconduct. Both warrant mentioning, but the article reads like the author wishes he'd never played - it's like they ignored the fact that the guy was one hell of a hockey player even apart from the intimidating physical play.
