I realize that I'm not the demographic for this Monday night tech-golf thing, but it sounds like it could easily turn into a clown show. And is anyone watching if Tiger's not playing, similar to the PGA Tour for two decades?

The proposed changes are a huge step in the right direction. The NLU guys have it right ... the status quo is unsustainable, not with the innovations LIV is bringing to the table. Will some events lose luster because of a lack of stars? Of course, no different than now. But if there is a chance of promotion from the John Deere to one of the elevated events, it makes those events more interesting. You can market around that. That would be a great opportunity to give a spot to, say, the top three KFT guys. Allow them to participate in those events and market the rising star factor. And if one of them wins? Cinderella story advancing to the next elevated event.

Don't really care about the Monday night exhibition stuff, so whatever there. But I like the ideas the players have for improving the meat of the tour.

Can’t be worse than The Battle at the Big One or whatever ABC used to air with Tiger vs Whomever.

I'd love to know how close some title sponsors really came to bailing. The lesser events know they're not going to get many big stars, and then LIV chopped the pool by maybe a third in taking Phil/Bryson/Brooks/DJ, guys you can sell tickets around. But the Tour worked its magic again, and it's really amazing when you think about how little sponsor turnover there is.

For advertisers, the consumer demo for golf is singularly platinum.

Really surprised nobody's just put together a TopGolf type competition - first segment is long drive, second segment closest to hole, third is the putt. And you could throw some wildcards in there by requiring certain clubs for a specifc shot. Etc.

So Drive, Chip and Putt, but only for the pros.

Those guys weren't playing John Deere, Valspar, Honda, RSM, Houston or the Sony Open anyway.

And just where are those sponsors going to go?

Scotty S is puckering up so I’m thinking Cantlay might just roar into the lead in a couple of hours.
