At the time, I wanted Norman to win, him being snake-bitten so many times. But seeing how he treated Evert and his self-centered narcissism plus the Saudi thing, I'm happy to watch a 30 for 30 on his collapse.

Evert? There's a great story about how his then-wife found out about Evert.

I stayed overnight at Bay Hill a few years ago, when you turn on the TV in the room the Arnie doc comes on, playing on a loop. For there, that's pretty cool. And the best part of that doc (spoilers!) is showing how Arnie kept every piece of his fan mail.

First he praised Evert for knowing what it’s like to be a top athlete (throwing his wife under the bus) then he dumps her unceremoniously. Evert deserved better. (My school boy crush)

Well this is good to see: Pebble Beach becomes third anchor site for USGA, joining Pinehurst and Oakmont.

    Four U.S. Opens: 2027, 2032, 2037, 2044.

Three Women's Opens also announced beyond the one there already in 2023: 2035, 2040 and 2048.

Only 11 slots are open for the men's U.S. Open through 2051.

Pebble Beach becomes 3rd U.S. Open anchor site

When Norman got his first megayacht his wife took some of her friends to go see it and they found Greg on board getting a tour of Chris.

Which was immortalized in truth is stranger than fiction way by Dan Jenkins in one of his golf novels.

He doesn't come off as obnoxious in the doc as he is today. The Saudi thing is just nuts, but it looks like it's gonna happen and someone's gonna cash those sportswashed checks. Will add a little spice to the golf beat this summer.

It's annoying because I want to like Norman. I loved the guy's play back then, he truly was like a pirate playing golf. I loved his style back in the day and, before Tiger Woods came along, I'd argue his branding through Reebok did as much to move stodgy golf fashion into the 20th century as anything Tiger did in oversized shirts and pants from the movie Shazam. I even bought one of those straw hats with the intent of wearing it until I saw myself in a mirror.

But Goddamn, does he make it hard. From his praise of Trump to this and the belligerent tone he's done it in.

I went through a straw hat phase years ago. Problem was I sweat like a horse in the summer and the hats got crusty and gross, and after a while I decided my handicap wasn't really low enough to pull it off.

This is so full of quirks that I could spend an hour looking at it and find something new. The lady on the phone, with the down jacket, leopard print blouse and capris with a metal cane? The guy with the golf club with a huge backpack on? And is the guy in the back a bouncer or caddie? Plus, I love the random scooter, the stickers on the back of the crosswalk sign, even the Minx bus stop ad.

    I love L.A.
