Yeah. She was quite the story at Southern Pines.

Spent too much time chasing PGA Tour cuts and trying to qualify for the Masters through the U.S. Am and Public Links. It hindered her LPGA career for a lot of fuzzy, nebulous accomplishments: "Wow, Michelle almost made the John Deere cut." "Wow, Michelle shot 3-over at Waielae.", Etc., etc. She was the poster child for the everybody gets a trophy generation.

Maybe. But one might wonder if that notoriety and ability to hit the ball a mile was why Nike paid her a lot of money. Might have more than made up for a few wins she might have missed out on on the LPGA Tour. While I understand the circus stunt angle, the disparity in purses on the tours cannot be ignored. Uncle Phil's money might have more than bridged that gap and made it more feasible to do so.

Besides, it was great to watch Vijay Singh squirm when Wie and Annika entered PGA Tour events.

Was not putting one on him, just noting that was the one he won.

Doesn't bother me that she tried. Maybe she was bored with the LPGA competition. I'd rather see someone confident enough to give something a try, even if they fail, than to dicker around with regrets and "What if" later on.

She tried a lot of that before she was a full-time LPGA player. There was nothing to be bored about at that point and she certainly didn't tear the LPGA up even when she did go on full-time: five victories, one major.

I always wondered how much of it was her parents forcing her to do do it.

Five wins and one major is pretty good
    Of course more was expected

Sam Burns posts a 65 and then watches as the wind brings the Colonial field back to him
After a two-hour wait for him he rams home a birdie putt from off the green (38 feet) on the first playoff hole to beat Scottie Scheffler, coming from seven back

Meanwhile Harold Varner III went from -10 to even in six holes.

Those are the ones that make you run to the agate ... Varner won about $56,000. Should have made at least 10 times that.

Have finally found a consistent swing thought and identified my biggest issue in my swing. Essentially, I was losing the wrist hinge in the downswing and therefore dropping my hands, getting behind, and mishitting a ton of balls. Last couple of times I've played, I found a thought that helps me hold onto that hinge through impact, and the contact has been night and day. Now I was hitting my driver super high and a little short yesterday, so I need to figure that out, but just finding consistent contact had been such a problem that I'm thrilled to at least be hitting the ball decently now.

Played yesterday on a course where my last three scores were 106, 107 and 109. Shot 100, and my final chip for 99 just lipped out. Starting to turn some of those doubles into just plain bogeys, which is good for a 30-handicap. Just trying to chip away and get consistently back into the high 90s and keep going from there. Definitely seeing progress.
