That's always the rub. "You're not as good as we wrote you were going to be. What's wrong with YOU? If YOU had done things the right way, then our forecast would have been accurate."

Never the fault of the hype machine, only the ones being hyped for fucking up (which they sometimes do).

That had to fun watching that chip roll toward the hole (more fun if it drops, of course!).

I am a similar golfer (usually shoot 100 to 110, with occasional sub-100 rounds) and I find focusing on pulling my left arm through the shot helps me strike the ball more consistently — instead of rushing my backswing and chopping down at the ball.

Good stuff, Cosmo … keep hitting ‘‘em straight!

I recently on a whim changed my driver pre-shot routine. One practice swing, then into my stance and grip. One and only one brief grounding of the club and I'm into my backswing. No more endless noodling at the tee, no flood of conflicting thoughts, just a quick trigger into the swing. Started hitting mo' better shots right away, as fast as I could tee them up. I never swung so freely, or got quality results with less effort. It was a Matrix moment: Stop trying to hit the ball, and hit the ball.

This was the premise of Inner Golf, a 70s transcendental instruction protocol that advocated for mind power over the limits of technical expertise.

    Good job.

I just escaped out of the "technical" rabbit hole this Spring. I was so hyper technical that I had lost the athleticism; I had to tell myself "see the ball, be an athlete."

You never know when you will develop a bad habit. Grab a club and check your grip; look at your left hand thumb. I just discovered this weekend that somehow I had taken the left thumb off the shaft and had instead wrapped it around the shaft (like a baseball grip.) I put the left thumb back on the shaft and it was "Eureka!" got the feel back in my hands and strangely more, not less, stability in the grip. Thank goodness I found this. Can't wait to tee it up this weekend.

Watched Michelle Wie West's news conference in person today and followed her for a few holes. She seems pretty carefree, obviously has no expectations for the week, had fun talking with fellow players and mentioned that she's in a really good place in her life right now, which sounded absolutely sincere. She was followed by a decent-sized gallery for a hot Tuesday practice round afternoon and was very good with kids who were along the ropes. She's going to have a nice week and be supported by many of the same people who cheered her on so well down the road at Pinehurst No. 2.

DJ doesn't appear to have thoughts much deeper than "see ball, hit ball, see pussy, fuck pussy" so this checks out.

I'm sure the starting price to talk to DJ was $50 million and he probably ended up with far more than that to jump ship. And we all know he's not losing sleep over geopolitics.

So what does the PGA Tour do in response?

And as noted, DJ has RBC as a sponsor and he's skipping out on the RBC Canadian Open next week.
