Phil also says he'll play in the U.S. Open and The Open.

If I’m making the pairings for either, he’s playing the first round in the last group with two no-name qualifiers.

Can't wait to see him and (checks notes) Robert Garrigus and Kevin Na battle it out for blood money.

What if they gave a golf tour and no one covered it? Did it still happen?

Guess he's not too worried about the sponsorship he lost.

Question, when's that paid out? $20m/yr is a ton, of course, but as big a deal as $200M tomorrow.

It's no one's fault if a guy wins by six. Also no one's fault if a superstar doesn't win a tournament. They're free to make birdies any time they want.

Here's the other question: will Phil, DJ and the others be required to play every single tournament? If Dustin wants to take two weeks in August off to go fishing, will Norman/Saudis say, "fuck you ... you're playing."
And if any of them are playing when they really don't want to be there, what kind of effort can we expect? Will mysterious back injuries crop up?
The pride badge of honor they always took in being "independent contractors" may be tested in this situation. It's why they felt emboldened to chase the Saudi money. But now, at what cost? If I were doling out $125 mill to DJ and $200 to Phil, they'd damn well better tee it up every fucking round in every fucking tournament.

It wasn't the most exciting tournament. But it had its moments. Can't say that Horschel rolling in a 50-plus foot putt for eagle to put it out of reach was without drama.
