Geez, the Celebrity Tournament in Tahoe always makes me think about summer making the turn to home. Always thought it was later in the month.

Not the event to watch if you're one of those fans that gets bent when a broadcast doesn't show many golf shots. Look, Aaron Rodgers is throwing a football to partiers on a boat!

Same. Thought it was usually the week of or the week after the British Open. And the British Open is being held at its earliest point on the calendar.

IIRC, it used to be the same week as the British - since the Open ended early EDT and the Celeb event had the afternoon to itself.

I’m no Norman fan but that’s very petty by the R&A. The guy won two Claret Jugs. He wouldn’t have grossly hijacked the Monday and Tuesday stuff, and the R&A could have mitigated his presence in other ways. Once balls go in the air on Thursday, he’d be long forgotten anyway.

I am sure the Saudis can sponsor a Bonesaw Champions Dinner, where Norman can be honored.

I'd like to see him there, utter LIV one time and get the same treatment his goons gave Shipnuck at the Mickelson interview.

I read the story and it seems like a point of possible anticompetitive behavior is the world golf rankings, since the DP Tour and PGA Tour heads are members of the committee that sets the rankings, which are then used as one means of qualification for the majors. But I don't think there's much there unless the LIV Tour changes its rules, and also its name to the LXXII Tour. Also, the sources for the story are player agents, who of course have every motive to make the DOJ's inquiry sound more dire than it is.
