Running 2023-24 NCAA Basketball Thread

Gonzaga is only getting into the NCAAs if they win the WCC tournament. They really, really miss having a reliable 3-point shooter and are very thin on their bench due to injuries.

No Quad 1 wins this season, and I don’t see them beating Kentucky for one.

 

Gonzaga's metrics are insanely good for no good wins. They will be the poster child for metrics if they get in. I am not sure the NCAA has quite had to deal with a team like them since moving to the NET format.

 

Gonzaga still has two Q1 chances, at Saint Mary's and at San Francisco. They would get at least one more in the WCC tourney if they play either. They get one or two and they will go just because they are Gonzaga. (Edit: Missed the Kentucky game, so that could be a pretty big one.)

 

Clemson's resume is boosted by some great non-conference wins -- Boise State and South Carolina at home, Alabama away, TCU in Canada.

Virginia beat Florida in Charlotte and Texas A&M at home out of conference. UVA will be in if it takes care of business. Hoos' next eight games are all against Q1 or Q2 teams. If they go 5-3 or 6-2 during that stretch, they'll be fine.

 

Detroit lost at home to Robert Morris yesterday and is now 0-24.

There is no way an AD can ask what remaining fans there are to support this program unless Mike Davis is fired the minute the season ends.

 

IUPUI at Detroit on Valentine's Day. If the Titans don't win that one, they won't beat anyone.
