    I couldn’t believe it when I saw 1-11.

Penn State knocks off No. 12 Illinois with an 8-0 run in the last 35 seconds. Monumental collapse by the Illini, capped by fouling Zach Hicks on a 3-ball with 4.2 seconds left. Hicks hits all three FTs.

Game was played at old Rec Hall, which will still be a better college basketball venue than the Bryce Jordan Center in 2034, 2044 and 2054.

Why was the game played at Rec Hall?

That Kentucky-LSU ending was wild, with the Tigers scoring on a desperate save leading to a non-dunk alley-oop just before the buzzer.

Novelty, I suppose. They do the same thing with one of the wrestling team's matches annually. It does make for a Palestra-like atmosphere.

NC State still plays one game a year at Reynolds Coliseum. It's a pretty cool tradition in my opinion.

I wish Carolina would do one a year at Carmicheal, but they're not willing to leave the extra $1 million in ticket sales on the table. They played an NIT game there in 2010 and I got to go. It was one of my all-time favorite experiences as a Tar Heel alumnus too young to have gone to games in Carmichael before they opened the Dean Dome.

I understand that ESPN needs content but the endless "bubble watch/who do you have as the #1 seed" shit is too much.

    See you conference tournament week.
