Under no circumstances, anywhere, any time is going to Fontana a better option for the NASCAR fan than going to Rockingham.
I was through there Monday. My wife's dad is buried in Rockingham. I bet you can't get boiled peanuts in Fontana.

I’d rather be in Fontana, Calif., on Feb. 25 than Rockingham, N.C.

I have admittedly never been to Fontana, and I'd be willing to guess you've never been to Rockingham.
But there isn't a day on the Gregorian calendar that I'd rather be in the former rather than the latter.
I'm certain you can't get proper BBQ in SoCal.

I've been at Rockingham during a race in February. I don't care if the weather hovered near freezing – didn't bother me too bad, but my stepfather almost froze and he's not the easiest to chill – I'd still take it over Fontana.

While Fontana is having typical Rockingham weather this weekend -- and NASCAR's going to be hard-pressed to get four hours of dry anytime in the next five days -- the high in Rockingham today is a southern California-like 69.

Barbecue and boiled peanuts >>>>> x ∞ Fontana

Also, country ham, Cheerwine and cornbread made with no sugar.

I didn’t realize how much has been built up around the track in Fontana.

Fontana is the only track I’ve been to, and that was for three laps on the infield track in the back seat of a Champ car. *Where’s the go faster button?*

    Thanks, Lou. RIP.

There seemed to be some really fun, racy parts of Fontana today, though I may have been blinded by restarts.

I always liked pulling for Ward, then Jeff Burton. Harrison, now, might be the real deal. Seems pretty competitive for a Wood Brothers car.

I really like Bowyer and Tony Stewart together in the booth.

Fontana is my hometown. Born there. Lived there 30-odd years. My brother is still a couple of miles from the track. My parents got out in the past year.

No boiled peanuts. Good BBQ is scarce. Mexican food is good if you know where to look.

Was there for the first race. Alas ...
