Gary Rossington, Founding Lynyrd Skynyrd Guitarist, Dies at 71

 

Surprised the obits I've seen so far haven't mentioned the Rossington Collins Band.

 

The old MTV series Bands Reunited featured Berlin once
The song they performed was The Metro
In an article about the show it was pointed out they didn’t do Take My Breath Away because, as Terri Nunn said: “We HATE that fucking song.”

 

Was unavoidable in my neck of the woods. The regional dealers even used it in their ads.

Love the live version of "Gimme Three Steps", probably my favourite Skynyrd song. The ripping cover of "T For Texas" off One More From The Road is great too.

 

I should offer you my sympathies from what I gather. I am sorry it was inflicted upon you.

I still carry the images and sounds of the "Go see Cal!" spots from when I lived out west in this great country of ours in the 70s.

 

The Skynyrd “Behind the Music” was my favorite one of all time. RIP Gary Rossington.

 

Was that the one that caused a rift between Billy Powell and others over his recollection of the crash aftermath?

 

Not sure. I haven’t seen it in years but that doesn’t seem wrong.
