Oh easily irons because of the weight difference between the head and the shaft (Butthead laugh).

LIV could have the BroDude Club Throw contest at the range as an add-on. Age divisions, long distance, closest to the bonesaw, winners advance to the end-of-season championship. Instant content for the site along with growing the game. Win-win!

I'd guess the putter is the club most often thrown. Which goes further mallet head or blade? How do the long shaft putters fare? Scheffler can be the test pilot for this experiment.

I’ve never shanked a putt into the woods. I’d say the club I’ve tossed most often is a mid iron. Plus you have to be nice to the putter or the putter won’t be nice to you.

In my dumb college days I missed a short putt and tried to baseball-hit the ball into the woods with my putter, except the ball hit the putter on the hosel -- clink! -- and the head snapped off. Never tried that stunt again.

I think it was Earl Strickland, the Hall of Fame pool player, who said he was going to carry two cues with him: his playing cue and some cheap piece of crap that he could throw when he got mad. I feel the same about putters, which is odd because I've slammed my driver down when I've hit bad drives and Gene Garbered a handful of irons, but the putter has always been off limits for me. Maybe it is because I'm on the green when I'm using it and you can't act a fool my tossing or slamming it because you risk screwing up the turf. Weird. It's taken this thread to realize this.

Only time I broke a club was my 5-iron in my starter set. Was stuck in the woods, tried to blast out, but it hit another tree and went backward. Slammed the club down in frustration not realizing there was a tree root right below me. Snap went the clubhead. I still have it somewhere as a reminder to not be an idiot on the golf course.

I don't have the book here so I can't look it up, but the British commentator Henry Longhurst had an anecdote in one of his essays that the Atlanta country club where the teenage Bobby Jones played had a pro who got so fed up with the members losing their tempers on the course that he had a club throwing contest. According to Longhurst, if you're looking for distance, you should throw the putter. It won the contest.

The most surprising "bad sport" I ever heard of was Bjorn Borg; I read in a book that Mr. Stoic apparently would throw his rackets as a kid and just awful.

I've never been a club chucker, just didn't make sense to me, why jeopardize my club? I have spew some obscenities at myself at times but now that I do yoga and some meditation, I realize that anything more than disappointment is not helpful.

Some of the new Tiger-TaylorMade line looks pretty good. The new logo appears to be getting some shit. I don't really have an opinion on it either way.

Though, in my advancing age and long out of the 18-34 demo, I have no idea why it's SUN DAY RED. And not SUNDAY RED.

    That looks kinda dumb.
