It was a great idea at the time, during COVID, when there wasn't shit happening. And if they could get Tiger, Phil, Tom and Peyton back out there I might watch again, but no one wants to see these four people do this dumb shit.

Exactly. A course I've played since I was a kid in L.A. was Westchester -- nine par-4s, nine par-3s. If you fly into LAX, you can see it next to the northern-most runways. Westchester has lights, but they shine only where you're supposed to hit it. If you miss the fairway or are far off a green, you don't play in light. Many years ago, LAX reconstructed many of the runways. They took a chunk of Westchester Golf Course and re-routed Lincoln Blvd. Westchester GC became a 15-hole layout. A few years after that, they reconfigured the golf course to make it 18 holes again. They have a bunch of side-by-side 150-yard holes. It is now 4,600 yards, par-64 -- nine par-3s, eight par-4s and one par-5.

Never played there at night, but that’s a great county course less than 15 minutes from my house v

There are four people in the world who care about Talor Gooch's golf career: Gooch, his wife, his agent and his accountant. No one's ever purchased a ticket to watch him play; no one ever will. He needs to go live his life in the anonymity it deserves.

When Gooch says there should be an asterisk for a future Masters title won by Rory, he really means is Rory should get an asterisk for winning a Masters without Talor Gooch in the field. Which is pretty ludicrous.
But Gooch is the same guy who said his first LIV tournament had more atmosphere and juice than the Ryder Cup -- which he also has never played.
Talor Gooch needs a very large cup of STFU.

Rewatching the Jack doc on GC. So good.

And the fact that the entire first half (two hours worth) is basically only set up as recounting each of the first 15 majors. No mention of Tour wins, etc. That's how massive Jack was.

    It's not even close, honestly.

He was second in more majors than he won -- 19 to 18.

He COULD HAVE WON 37 majors.

Obviously, not realistic but he was FIRST OR SECOND in 37 majors. And has 56 top-five finishes in majors. 56!!

I met Jack during a practice round of the 2018 U.S. Am at Pebble. He was following his son Gary.

I introduced myself and the course I work for. He immediately fell in. Barbara was with him. He went into detailed - REALLY detailed - memories of his play at our course, and when he won there as a kid in the '50s. Walked with him for 6-7-8-9 of Pebble (of all places, of all stretches) while he went deep. It was fucking awesome, and I had to write about it. He was great and barely anyone was around. Masterclass.

Pretty cool to text my dad that night, "I just met Jack."
