In an absolute masterclass in cowardice, the LPGA schedules media availability in the press center with its commissioner for 9:30 am. Email was sent at 8:15. Scheduled right in the middle of the morning foursomes round when at least half the media is out on the course.

Why on earth would they do that?
Have it the day before or something….

Golfweek's Beth Ann Nichols got out her carving knives. And walked it back to Nelly's streak earlier this season, saying it shoulda been capitalized on more. Strong stuff.

Not too impressed with the commish this morning. She said "I have to own this" which ain't the same as "I own it" and said "we don't have a huge team" when asked about the delay in communications with fans during the day. That's a garbage excuse.

So bad. Do we ever hear about such debacles outside the US?

I thought I heard that last year's Solheim Cup in Spain had logistical issues too, but that wouldn't have gotten as much ink here.

I’m watching my recording but Foursomes (alternate shot) is my favorite golf to watch. (Playing it’s fun too). No room for error.

10-6 U.S. heading to tomorrow, still waiting to see the singles pairings. With only needing 4 1/2 points, I'm curious to see how Stacy plays it. Do you run your hottest player out there to start to try to clinch it early, or do you run them somewhere in the middle? I think she was smart to give everyone a rest, including Korda and Coughlin, who are as hot as anyone. Got a little hot out there this afternoon so I'm sure they appreciated the breather after playing the first three sessions. Also, I logged over 21 miles walking the last two days. My dogs are barkin'.

And as soon as I post, the pairings are out.

Hull vs. Korda as the lead-off at 8:50.
Nordqvist vs. Corpuz at 9:20 is a toss-up between two players who are playing extremely well.
Coughlin gets the 10 a.m. start against Maja Stark, which could be right around when this thing is decided if things go well for the Americans at the start. LC trying to become the first American rookie ever to go 4-0 in a Solheim Cup. She's playing her ass off right now, everything working. She may have gotten louder cheers than Lexi this morning when they were announced at the first tee. Virginia is absolutely behind her.

Also shoutout to Ciganda for getting put on the clock in an alternate shot match. I know she's been fined for slow play on the LET, but to get dinged in a fucking Solheim Cup is some chef's kiss shit.

    For me, it works amazingly.

Somehow I got into the mindset to hit the ball first and I ended up stabbing the ball; now concentrate on hitting the grass and rotating and its as simple as putting.

Youtube is an amazing resource (when it works). I owe my bunker play to Phil's video and now my chipping to this guy.

Lilian Vu with three clutch holes to finish with the needed 1/2 pt to clinch, finishing with a wedge to 2 ft in 18. Was a nice finish to the day.

I know the producers love Lexi and I’m not a hater but she gets more screen time than others combined even while she’s crumbling.

oh BTW, great performance by Coughlin. She should’ve been getting more run.

Coughlin was going to get the chance to get the winning half or point all day until Lexi fell apart at the end, so that was a bit of a bummer. But what a comeback from down three after 10. She said she was a little rattled early on because she wasn't prepared for people chanting her name as she walked down the fairways so it took her a minute to settle in. She finally saw something drop on 8, a hole Stark lipped out, and that got her going. Ended up walking with some of the UVA women's golf support folks and her uncle at the end of the round, and it was electric, especially when she made the birdie on 17 after Stark stuck it to two feet. Virginia really showed out for her yesterday, proud to be just a little part of a great golf community here.
